The appreciative top management of Philippine Airlines (PAL) recently honored their most outstanding travel and tour partners for 2009 during the annual “Daghang Salamat” and “Madayaw Awards” for the Visayas and Mindanao, held at the Grand Ballroom of Century Park Hotel in Manila.
The much-anticipated reception took on a Hawaiian theme with the ladies in multi-hued mumus and sarongs, while the gentlemen came in bright-colored shirts and slacks.
Pinky Pineda, senior accounts officer of PAL Davao, shared an inspiring invocation followed by a brief and warm welcome by PAL country manager Ma. Milagros Revilla.
The top three awardees for passenger sales international were Cebu Fortune Travel represented by Mitch Uy and Cathy Uy; Worldwide Travel represented by Zenaida Chua; and Destination Specialist represented by Marget Villarica.
The Silver awardees were Alan Carvajal of Travelways International; Jeanne Teh of Global Link; Christine Tan of Grand Holidays; Gwen Po of Pan Pacific; and Sheila Colmenares of Leisure Travel, while the Bronze awardees were Baby Dy and Nelson Dy of Grand Hope; and Alice Queblatin of Sounthwind Travel.
For the airlines domestic ticketing program, the Gold awards went to Sheila Yap of Travel Lounge; Marget Villarica of Destination Specialist; Alan Carvajal of Travelways International; Jack and Cora O of Golden JC; and Brian Ho of ELS, Iloilo.
For Cargo Sales, the awardees included Yusen Air and Sea Service (gold); Nippon Express Corp. and Airlift Asia Inc (silver); Agility Logistics and Kintetsu World Express Inc. (bronze).
The sterling group led by Ma. Milagros Revilla, Enrique Javier, vice president; Barazel Salazar, assistant vice president, Visayas; Domingo Duerme, senior assistant vice president, Mindanao; and Richard Miller, chief commercial group adviser; presented the awards.
The lively affair ended with an up-beat song and dance number by Billy Crawford. Special guest performer was KC Concepcion, United Nation’s World Food Program ambassador against hunger.
The hosts for the evening were Cielo Villaluna and Ali Licarte of PAL.
