MANILA, Philippines - Rustan’s Supermarket and some of the country’s famous chefs offer healthy and savory food choices with the Rustan’s Supermarket 2010 Healthy Gourmet Planner. Following last year’s highly successful recipe planner promotion, this year’s food calendar encourages better eating habits with a mouthwatering yet nutritious menu, carefully crafted by some of the country’s best culinary artists.
The planner features respected chefs from all over the metropolis, including Dusit Thani Manila’s chef Armin Brandtner, Lolo Dad’s chef Ariel Manuel, Malacañang Palace’s chef Babes Austria, the Discovery Hotel group’s chef David Pardo de Ayala, The Peninsula Manila’s chef Adam Mathis, and chef Rosebud Benitez of QTV 11’s Quickfire.
Every month, a selected chef shares a healthy menu he or she has assembled, which includes a yummy appetizer, a scrumptious main course, and a delightful dessert. Each menu offers the chance to try the various ways in which one can eat and enjoy a wonderful explosion of flavors while still keeping his or her fitness and health in check. Recipes are easy to follow, making it the perfect companion for cooking enthusiasts who would like to learn something new.
The Healthy Gourmet Planner also offers tips for those who are unfamiliar with the nutritional benefits of different types of food. For instance, did you know that a regular intake of garlic will help reduce the risk of catching a cold by half, or that eating at least three plums a day can lower your risk of age-related blindness by roughly one-third? All these tips aim to encourage better food choices for a stronger and fitter body, as well as a healthier eating lifestyle.
Ongoing until Dec. 31, Rustan’s Supermarket customers can get a passbook for a minimum purchase of P500, inclusive of P100 worth of sponsor products. Once a customer claims a passbook, every P500 purchase worth of any item made thereafter in participating branches earns one sticker. Filling in all 16 sticker slots in passbook within the promo period entitles the customer to a free Rustan’s Supermarket 2010 Healthy Gourmet Planner.
