MANILA, Philippines – Durian mooncake makes its debut at Mandarin Oriental, Manila as its signature specialty in this year’s Mid-Autumn Moon celebration. The durian mooncake, popular in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, is the newest addition to the hotel’s offering of snow skin, lotus, bean, taro, milk custard and other specialty mooncakes.
The hotel also celebrates this significant Chinese festival with a buffet dinner, fun, frolic and prizes at the sheung yuet night, when it welcomes the moon on Oct. 2, 6 p.m. at the Captain’s Bar. The grand raffle prize is a trip to Hong Kong courtesy of Philippine Airlines with accommodations at a luxury partner hotel in Hong Kong.
