Vicki Belo opens first clinic in Cebu

MANILA, Philippines – At the mere mention of her name, beauty immediately comes to mind. Large billboards and the testimonials from megastars attest to this. She is none other than Vicki Belo.

To make her services more accessible to Filipinos residing mainly in the Visayas and Mindanao, Victoria Belo, MD, a graduate of the University of Sto. Tomas and faculty member of Medicine and Surgery, recently opened her first regional clinic at the Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu.

The grand launch started with the time-honored blessing of the premises by Monsignor Achilles Dakay.

Joji Dingcong, corporate imaging and branding specialist, conceptualized and produced the lively, star-studded summer party that immediately followed at the al fresco courtyard fronting the Belo clinic.

Host for the evening Donita Rose, herself a Belo image model, introduced the celebrity endorsers, who serenaded the multitude of Cebuanos representing the various sectors of society.

The performers included balladeers Christian Bautista, Janno Gibbs and multi-awarded, accomplished actor Christopher de Leon, who incidentally can also sing. Lovely Claudine Barretto was present as well. Making their rounds greeting longtime friends were party couple Herman and Ginajane Grey, who spent many memorable years in Cebu before moving to Manila.

In lieu of the traditional ribbon cutting, eight mother-child pairs joined the butterfly-releasing ceremony, which signified the start of something new — beauty spreading its wings and taking flight in Cebu through the Belo Medical Group.

Doing the honors were internationally acclaimed furniture designer Kenneth Cobonpue and son, Andre, socialite Maryanne Aboitiz Arculli and daughter Jasmine, patroness of the arts Elvira Luym with daughter Kaye and this writer with only child, Eduard.
