Flavors of Taguig food festival today
In this season of hope, the Taguig City Government, in cooperation with Lightomorrow Foundation, renews its commitment of changing the way people live in the city, with the “Taste of the City 3… The Many More Flavors of Taguig.” Top restaurateurs from Taguig will once again converge at the NBC Tent, Fort Bonifacio today for this year’s biggest culinary event for a cause.
“During these times of economic uncertainty, we believe that this is the perfect way to celebrate the season. While we indulge in the fabulous food feast offered by the city’s restaurateurs, we also give hope to our homeless residents,” Taguig Mayor Freddie R. Tiñga said.
“A Taste of the City 3… The Many More Flavors of Taguig” will not only showcase the city’s most exquisite cuisines and finest flavors, but will once more benefit the city’s homeless by helping build more Family Townhomes (FT) units, the city government’s public housing program.
In the past two years, Taguig was able to raise more than P1.5-million through the Lightomorrow Foundation. It was able to help build at least 20 housing units in Brgy. Napindan.
Last April, the Gawad Kalinga-Taste of the City Village was unveiled to benefit informal settlers in Purok 5, Sto. Tomas, Brgy. Napindan. Restaurant owners, who attended the groundbreaking, had their fair share in the volunteer house-building, as they all passed around concrete bricks and endured the sweltering summer heat.
This time around, diners can choose from the multi-cultural tastes offered by Kaiseki, Embassy Superclub, Duo, L’ Opera, Thai at Silk, Larry’s Bar, Tatami, Pasto/Trio, Tea & Therapy, TGI Friday’s, Mezzaluna, Jack’s and Jill’s, Zao, and Aubergine.
Abe, Bistro Filipino, Ineng’s Special Barbecue, Pier One, Villa Salud, and Jaemark’s, on the other hand, are set to serve a delicious combination of unique and traditional Filipino dishes, while desserts specialists Cupcakes by Sonja, and Marta’s Cakes, provide a slice of sweet endings.
