An altar date after 12 years

There is nothing as sweet in life as love’s young dream.

Tomas Ngo III proved this when he wed his sweetheart of 12 years, bubbly Michelle del Gallego during the solemn rites officiated by Fr. Ernesto Javier at the National Shrine of St. Joseph Parish in Mandaue City.

The glowing bride in an elegant Jun Escario creation walked down the aisle with proud dad Miguel del Gallego, as family and close friends watched admiringly.  

Principal sponsors were Elizabeth Alba, Thelma Ngo represented by daughter Riza Go,  Marta Cabarrus, Filomena Sy, Cynthia Locsin represented by Maria Gadget Lamata, Mariconnie Rosis and Marilen Jarque.

Their equally distinguished male counterparts were Prospero Nograles,  Gabriel Leyson, Ramon del Gallego,  Danilo Lua  represented by Francisco Jarque, Mike Gieseke represented by Marc Cools, Paul Almendras  and Ricardo Alba.

Michelles’s sister Martha was maid of honor while Tomas’ brothers Alexander and Christopher Ngo stood as best men.

The lovely bridesmaids, sisters of the bride Maitina Borromeo, Ma. Luisa del Gallego, Marianne Falacienski together with Sheila Ngo looked chic and smart in midnight blue cocktail lace dresses as they walked down the aisle with not-to-be-outdone dashing groomsmen Bryan Chona, Paco Jarque, John Edward Ngo and John Jacob Lapidez.

Adorable flower girls were Michelle’s nieces eight months old Ma. Victoria Elena Borromeo in a baby stroller that was decorated with tiny flowers and two-year-old Gabrielle June Falacienski who looked like the angel that she is.

Immediately after the ceremony, guests proceeded to the foyer of the Casino Español de Cebu for cocktails before entering  the  grand Salon de España ballroom, which was beautifully decorated with white orchids and mums  by florist par excellence Pinky Chang.

The fabulous buffet showcased the club’s specialties from seafood delights, carving stations and sumptuous desserts.

Receiving praise for such an innovative — and I must say delicious — single wedding cake that was surrounded by tiny cupcakes was upcoming baker, sister of the bride and matron of honor  Monique Jarque. After much fun and laughter, the newlyweds invited everyone to dance the night away to the beat of the Renaissance Band.

Each guest went home with artistically wrapped flowerpots that contained lush bromeliads from the collection of the grooms loving grandmother Gloria Casas Ngo.

It was a wonderful culmination of a relationship that has flourished and matured through the years.
