It was nothing but a casual encounter through mutual friends in 2006. Two years later they bumped into each other at a charity event, but this time it was different. One thing led to another and before long, enterprising entrepreneur Judd Pimentel wed Cebu Waterfront Hotel and Casino’s efficient marketing communications manager for rooms Renee Villasin in memorable ceremonies at the elegantly modern Sacred Heart Parish. Well respected and much loved Father Ernesto Javier SJ was officiating priest.
The groom, dignified in an off-white tuxedo, stood alongside his best men, brother Jacob Pimentel and childhood friend Sebastian Seno. Judd stood ever smiling as he watched his gorgeous bride walk down the aisle on the arm of her father, Noe Villasin.
Renee was simply radiant and glowingly beautiful in an understated Mikado silk sleeveless gown with a slight train executed by Cebu’s foremost fashion designer, Philip Rodriguez, who also masterfully created the much-talked-about attire of the ladies of the entire entourage.
The lady sponsors Norah Balao, Marmel Boisseree, Charito del Rosario, Zony Escario, Editha Partidas, Marie Villalon and Marina Stella Uy wore beautiful earth-toned gowns while the male sponsors Dewey Choachuy, Henry Chua, Reynaldo David, Enrique Farrarons, Mariano Florido, Jr., Marco Protacio and Augusto Go, were debonair in their tailored black suits.
Maids of honor Sarrita Pimentel and Caroline Malagar wore ’6os-inspired Jackie O burgundy outfits complete with pillbox hats, while bridesmaids Antoinette Corominas, Ann Rosales, Francesca Martinez, Marissa San Augustin and Tisha Villaluz looked ever so chic in similar attire, this time in deep champagne. The groomsmen Jon Syjuco, Randy Pages, Eduard Loop, Stanley Yap and Tomas Ngo III stood tall in perfectly fitted dark suits.
The reception was held at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Cebu Waterfront Hotel and Casino. The resplendent gathering area was transformed into a tent with the ceiling draped in yards upon yards of white, billowing fabric. Antique candelabra, scented candles and white blooms added drama to the magical ambiance.
Marco Protacio, the dynamic general manager of the hotel, personally and meticulously took charge of most of the preparations, from the eye-catching decorations of the dining room to the exquisite menu that showcased the property’s finest cuisine.
Sandra Lim, the upcoming baker to watch, created the three-tiered Belgian chocolate fondant cake that simply delighted the guests.
The popular Renaissance Band provided the music as Judd led his Renee to the dance floor for the traditional first dance as husband and wife.
After years of searching for the true meaning of life and love, the newlyweds have finally found home with each other.
