Shangri-La Mactan Resort and Spa, a venue for all reasons and seasons, was the place to be on this magnificent evening.
The event was the cocktail reception that formally launched the latest glossy magazine, Town and Country, for the Cebuano movers and shakers, trend setters, and lovers of the good life.
The evening’s affair was hosted by the publication’s likeable editor, Monique Villonco; associate publisher Tara Santos; editor at large Mia Borromeo; and fashion and beauty director Rorie Carlos, all from Summit Media. Also present were Landco’s Monterrazas de Cebu represented by Alfred Xerez-Burgos III, senior vice president for sales and marketing; Francis Ceballos, EVP and COO and Shella Sarmiento, sales and marketing head for the Visayas and Mindanao; Judith Go and Babette Peña of Citibank and Shangri-La’s newly arrived GM Raymund Bragg and his wife Susan Bragg.

Celebrating the event was Mary Anne’s proud parents, Annie Osmeña Aboitiz and Louis Aboitiz, and her ever-supportive husband, Derek, who brought along their petite daughter Jasmine.
Cebu Provincial Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, Cebu City First Lady Margot Osmeña and Consul General of Turkey Leontina Benedicto, took time out from their busy schedules to grace the gathering. Guests also included Michel and Amparito Lhuillier, Carmen Campbell, Josephine Booth, Edna Diago Lhuillier who came with daughter Angie and her husband Martin Miranda, fashion designers and trail blazers Arcy Gayatin and Philip Rodriguez, the simpatico Marco Protacio, GM of Waterfront Hotels and Casino, leading architect Tessie Javier, philanthropist Mariquita Yeung, fun couple Michael and Rose Hennessy, and businessman with a cause Efrain Pelaez.
Also present from the younger set of southern belles were Melanie Ediza, Jaja Rama, Bea Villegas, Christine Pelaez, Iris Arcenas, Candice Gotianuy, and Alice Fernandez.
The Shang was artistically draped in white flowing fabric. Popular florist Pinky Chang lent her beautiful crystal chandeliers that softly illuminated the gourmet section, while much sought after landscaper Jaime Chua brought in his nine-foot high bamboo plants that were placed strategically Herve Lampert and Maritess Gonzalez exhibited their exquisite Dedon furniture
Event planner and interior decorator par excellance Teresin Mendezona once again masterfully put everything together.
It was a wonderful gathering of beautiful party people who turned out en masse to welcome Town and Country into the community.
