Banking on Cebu’s future

Maybank Philippines belongs to the Maybank family, the biggest banking group in Malaysia. It is ranked among the top 20 banks in Asia and the top 130 banks in the world, with branches in the major financial centers of the globe, such as New York, London, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Envisioning a stronger presence in the Southeast Asian region and seeing the strategic value of operating in the Philippines, Maybank started operations in the country in 1997 to become the first fully owned foreign bank. A full-service commercial bank offering its clients a wide array of financial services, it has come a long way in its first 10 years with more than enough reasons to be proud of.

Maybank Cebu celebrated this significant milestone in the bank’s history by hosting an evening of cocktails, dining, and entertainment for their loyal patrons at the Cebu City Waterfront Hotel. With the theme “Intense — years of passion and commitment,” the 10th anniversary affair was a warm and friendly event with business associates who have become partners in promoting the mutually beneficial goals of the business community. Unique to the evening’s program was the participation of yuppie clients who as young customers are given special privileges and incentives to maintain and expand their accounts.

Emcees for the night were Thea Liz Fu and Shelly Lynn Fu who, even as teenagers, skillfully coordinated the activities like professionals starting with Pat Rodriguez for opening remarks, followed by Richard Lim, retail marketing management head, for the welcome address and Enrique Jimenez for the highlights of the decade.

The guests were entertained by promising performers Ranny Yu, Kara Ysabella Tan Rodriguez and Sabrina Kho.

Maybank Philippines is a player to watch in the industry and will surely expand its services and commitments to present patrons as well as future clients.
