Something blue at Bryan and Chaveli Head’s wedding

- Honey Jarque Loop -

Little did Manila-based Bryan Head ever suspect that a simple, usually uneventful weekend visit to Cebu would someday dramatically change his lifestyle for the next couple of years, and eventually for the rest of his life.

It was a fun-filled Halloween party with several mutual friends that set the stage for Bryan and Chaveli Jarque to meet where courtship soon began.

At the onset of the New Year at mid-afternoon at the Sacred Heart Parish, Bryan and Chaveli made their dream come true before Fr. John Iacono.

The bride looked radiantly beautiful in a lace and ivory satin bridal gown by promising young designer Tet Ko. The groom, debonair in a tailored black suit alongside the best man, his brother Charles Balch, stood tall as he watched his petite bride beaming with joy as she walked down the aisle on the arm of her father Cisco Jarque.

The padrinos, everyone’s favorite pediatrician both in Manila and Cebu, Dr. Mike Celdran, Tourism Undersecretary and baptismal godfather of the bride Edu Jarque, courier magnate Linggoy Araneta, travel expert Pichuco Berenguer-Testa, and realtor Loi Villalon walked proudly and distinguished with madrinas Victoria Maniquis, simpatiquisima Janet Ugarte, Margette Sarmiento, Annette Mendezona, and Joyce Chiongbian, who all came in elegant earth-tone gowns.

The ever-attentive ideal maid of honor, best friend Mikele Ugarte, together with bridesmaids, her sisters London-based Isabel and Miren Jarque, cousins Katrin Celdran and Cristina Sasnovski, and childhood friends Adrianne Gonzales, Regina del Rosario, and Christina Villalon were all dressed in blue flowing creations by the same bridal designer. The groomsmen included Bryan’s buddies from cities all over the world where he once resided: Paolo Tuason, Jaime Legarda, Dave Mcglothlin, Jared Neoring, Carlos Elizalde, Phillip Frederick Hagedorn, and Gabriel Roses.

The reception, which everyone is still talking about to this day, was at the Grand Ballroom of the Casino Español de Cebu, which was elegantly decorated with liliums and white enchanting flower centerpieces by foremost florist Pinky Chang of Pink Flora.

Soon after the couple had their first dance, a salsa number, close relatives and dear friends joined in to the beat of the Renaissance Band and the celebration went on into the wee hours of the morning.

With such an unforgettable affair, Bryan and Chaveli embarked together on their lifetime journey as man and his lady love.
