Cebu focuses on Ford’s latest

The original model of the popular Ford Focus, one of the world’s top selling cars for the last six years, has given way to a recent arrival – the new Ford Focus. Yes, siree, same name, but a great innovation of an automobile.

Jose Daniel Borromeo, general manager of Dearborn Motors Co. Inc., distributors of all types of vehicles under the Ford label, and ably assisted by brother Paolo, the driven sales manager of Ford Cebu, recently hosted an intimate cocktail reception to launch the new Ford Focus.

On hand to warmly welcome guests and perhaps potential owners – I believe it’s all but a question of time – were Ford Motors Co. Philippines finance director Don Gelines and Dearborn Motors Co. president Maximo Borromeo.

Seamlessly designed, as one would expect from the German car manufacturer, the new – please note the word new – Ford Focus has expanded greatly, were space is abundant and legroom is genuinely generous with ample luggage area. It is equipped with all the latest in technology, including the Intelligent Protection System.

Among the invitees who didn’t have enough of what they saw were architect Ed Gallego, several times international awardee for furniture design Kenneth Cobonpue, enjoying the buena vida retiree Mariano Perdices and health buff wife Maricar, and sportsman Rene Sarmiento and spouse Girlie.

Young enterprising entrepreneurs were in attendance, as well. They included Arlo Sarmiento, Rasi Franco, Quinito Moras, Glenn Soco, Danny Borromeo, Rick Aznar, and Martin Miranda.

The new Ford Focus, like a new generation of computers and mobile cell phones, is a precision tool, one that is surely on the way to becoming a design icon.
