A denim birthday party for four friends

Blessed with life’s bountiful fortunes – among them a loving family, supportive friends and successful careers – a fine lady and three distinguished caballeros, all good friends since they were this high and firm believers of the work-hard, play-hard school of thought, had all the reasons to celebrate another milestone in the endearing company of parientes y amigos who have touched their hearts and made a difference in their lives.

Birthday celebrants Maricar Perdices, Ed Gonzalez, Tony Lozada, and Jos Moraza jointly hosted a hard-to-beat, fun-filled denim party at the grand ballroom of the Casino Español de Cebu.

It started with cocktails and picas amid lively animated conversations. Childhood friend Jon Aboitiz and genuine pal John Domingo tendered heart-warming toasts and briefly shared their memorable experiences. Not a few eyes turned misty from these reminiscences.

A buffet dinner prepared con mucho cariño was served, with the added spice of the Renaissance Band treating everyone to a medley of old-time favorites and popular tunes.

Keeping the party swinging all night were lead band singer Jun Jereza, likeable couples Chiling and Susan Sala, Rene and Girlie Sarmiento, Maxcy and Marivic Borromeo, Alberto and Tere Rotaeche, bubbly Vicky Moraza, now-you-see, now-you-don’t amiable doctor Chito Paulin, and avid golfers Butch Chiongbian, Renato Osmeña, and David Ugarte.

Society arbiter of fashion and style Rosebud Sala, with her gentleman husband Choy, together with party planner que hace las cosas con todo su corazon Teresin Mendezona, lover of la buena vida Marissa Fernan, accomplished architect Tessie Javier, and the simpatica Betsy Chiongbian, also joined the celebration, much to the delight of the four more-than-golden birthday celebrants.

In lieu of regalos, the invitees were requested to give generously to their favorite charities, and they all did. Now, isn’t that a wonderful way to celebrate life?
