Meanwhile, right in the center of town, at the city’s newest shopping mecca, the Elizabeth Mall, where friends claim surprises abound, the popular Manila-based food chain Chowking opened its doors after the blessing by Fr. Carmelo Diola.

Doing the honors during the ribbon cutting were Department of Tourism director Dawnie Roa and Rufino de la Rosa, Chowking Philippines president. Very visible were franchisee owners Danny and Marlinda Tan and co-managing directors, on their very first venture together, newlyweds Ian Irving Tan and his wife Maritess.

Recently, over lunch with Amor Salud, the chief operating officer of Club Ultima, he shared that the premier membership club will be operational in December.

Included in the plan is the Crown Regency Hotel, with 36 floors of deluxe accommodations, complete with luxurious amenities, world-class dining, entertainment, conference venues and the latest facilities. Now, that is a development the Cebuanos will certainly eagerly look forward to.
