Eurêka! Theme Parties offers hassle-free fantasy parties

Imagine beautiful fairies garbed in pixie costumes with golden wings. The entire place is topped with curtains of bubbles while classical music plays, as your beloved fairy-child is presented to your guests. How about a parade of princes and princesses, with the hall streaming with drapes and shields reminiscent of medieval times, or a world of sorcery and pirates, where magic, potions and treasure hunts are the norm?
Eurêka! Theme Parties is a one-of-a-kind theme party organizer that creates splendid activities that entertain, inspire and offer a change from commonplace and boring gatherings. This time, awesome activity-based challenges and amazing art attacks will stimulate and hone young creative minds.
Eureka! is the brainchild of partners Stephanie Claire Belmonte and Maimai Yebes, yuppies in their early 30s and 20s who conceptualized this one-stop theme party shop in 2002, inspired by the need to provide convenience to dual-income families, to offer an opportunity to be with the children, and to introduce one-of-a-kind theme parties and gatherings.
Stephanie Claire Belmonte is a 30-year-old single parent with a background in marketing and public relations. A political science graduate of De La Salle University, she has handled various corporate stints prior to becoming a freelance writer and managing partner of Eurêka! Theme Parties. Co-managing partner Maimai Yebes is a De La Salle Zobel preschool teacher, having finished a double degree in psychology and education at De La Salle University. Both entrepreneurs have focused their creative energies to come up with a novel approach to partying, something they encourage other young women to do regardless of their status in life.
"When I was part of the corporate world, planning a party for my son was often stressful," Belmonte said. "I wanted everything, what with the limited time I had between work and being OC, to be just right: Fun, memorable, and extraordinary. When we founded Eurêka! Theme Parties, we saw the need, specially for working parents, for an event organizer that can handle all the little details of a well-planned affair, be it a birthday party, corporate affair, over-the-hill or retirement party."
"That, plus our genuine love of kids and a need to bring fantastic ideas into reality, pushed us to make life easy for those who want to celebrate their loved ones’ birthdays, but had neither the time nor the resources to do it," said Yebes. "After handling so many parties for kids, you get a sense of how much work is put in to it. It takes certain kinds of people to handle children effectively – something we are armed with since we love kids."
Eurêka! Theme Parties eliminates events where guests sit around watching mascots and clowns.
"Our parties focus on a pleasant mix of personalized games and art attacks that capture the interest of young and old alike," said Belmonte.
"Also, Eurêka! involves not only the kids in our games and activities," Yebes said. "Even the adults and nannies are part of the fun, because going to a party shouldn’t just be about sitting around and doing nothing. A Eurêka! party is about having fun with everyone!"
"One thing to note, as well about Eurêka!, is our staff," Belmonte said. "Part of our staff is our kids. My son, for example, handles our digital pictures, stuff we use on our website. On a few occasions, clients even commissioned him to take their pictures during the affair. Two nieces of mine, ages 6 and 9, handle registration, as well as some of the activities."
"We’ve found that teaching the kids the value of fun, as well as work, is very important," Yebes said. "It’s unusual to be in a situation where fun is work and work is fun. That’s something we want the kids to learn at an early age."
"The rest of our staff are out-of-school college kids or undergraduates. We’ve found that when you empower people to make use of their talents, there’s very little that can bring them down. They enjoy the work, and still get the sense of accomplishment and training that they can use in future endeavors," Belmonte added.
"Our setups are fantastic!," Yebes said. "We’ve spent countless hours meeting with the right people, sourcing out the right props and materials to transform ballrooms, function rooms, backyards and garages into fantastic fantasy lands."
"For example, a regular garden is transformed into a fairy land, as butterflies, forest drums and exotic chimes enchant guests like Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream with Eurêka!’s Stardust theme. The medieval world comes into existence as princes and princesses join a masquerade where a royal feast and coronation bring a sense of mythic ritual to Eurêka!’s Royal Gala theme," Belmonte said.
Yebes added: "Eurêka!’s Harry Potter theme is a crowd favorite as the Great Hall of Hogwarts is recreated complete with flying brooms, gargoyles and majestic crests. Eurêka!’s Pirate theme makes for ruckus fun, as nets, life buoys and masts, complete a naval scene, while Eurêka!’s Luau theme is accentuated with tiki lamps, bongo drums and bamboo twirls. All in all, we’ve had fun building up original setups that are quite impressive."
"The reason it’s a one-stop shop is because after you make a call, the entire theme package, with all its inclusions, like themed hostesses, invites, setup (backdrops and hole-in-the-wall), cake, loot-bags and giveaways, together with kiddie tables and chairs with theme centerpieces, giant card and bubble machines, are at your disposal," Belmonte said. "There are very few things we can’t provide for you as we’ve tied up with caterers, photographers and florists. We try our best to fulfill the requirements of even the most discriminating of clients at prices that don’t go through the roof."
