Cebu welcomes PAL’s Mabuhay Miles

After two years in the drawing board, Philippine Airlines recently launched its improved all brand-new frequent flyer program, Mabuhay Miles, during a cocktail reception at the Cebu City Waterfront Hotel.

It was hosted by Manila-based top executives, led by executive vice president commercial group, executive assistant to the chairman and CEO Henry So Uy, vice president for marketing Felix Cruz and assistant vice president for products Joy Lynn Pasiliao, in cooperation with Hong Kong Shanghai Bank Company (HSBC), the co-brand credit card partner.

The well-attended affair brought together stakeholders of the island’s travel industry to include tour operators and travel agents, specialized travel organizers, hotelier and resort owners, car rental directors, corporate account managers, as well as the elite members of the airline’s privilege club and frequent sports travelers.

To appreciate the many money-can’t-buy-much desired gangas, Cebu’s fashion icon, leading hostess, dedicated civic leader and a Mabuhay Miles premier elite member, who has accumulated over a hundred thousand miles due to her constant trans-Pacific trips, Amparito Lhuillier, with the assistance of another globetrotter and a member of the exclusive club, emcee-for-the-night Ruffa Gutierrez, gladly shared her account, which was viewed on the big screen to showcase the web features of the program.

Loyalty definitely has its rewards. With Mabuhay Miles, member loyalty is amply rewarded in more ways than one.

"Our new program is structured to better match the needs of our members," notes Pasiliao. "Mabuhay Miles is a world-class program with a distinct Filipino touch, as only an airline like Philippine Airlines provides."

The evening’s entertainers were the much-admired performers Jim Paredes, Danny Javier and Buboy Garovilla, collectively known as the Apo Hiking Society, who thrilled everyone with their rendition of much-loved revivals and hits.

Business-class air tickets with accommodations at Omni Hotel in Saigon and the Marco Polo Hotel in Hong Kong were raffled off as grand prizes. Philippine Airlines likewise gave away several Mabuhay class tickets to Sydney, Guam and Shanghai.

With PAL’s newest frequent flyer program in place, travelers can enjoy priority treatment every step of their journey with exclusive privileges. Come fly with PAL, the Philippines’ national flag carrier, Asia’s first airline.
