Megan Young returning to Miss World as host
MANILA, Philippines — Host-model and former beauty queen Megan Young is returning to the Miss World stage, the same competition she won in 2013.
The Miss World pageant tapped the Filipina actress to be a presenter at its 71st edition coronation night taking place at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai, India on March 9.
The pageant confirmed Megan's participation on social media with a "welcome back" post for its former titleholder.
This will be Megan's seventh time participating in Miss World since her coronation, and her first time in five years.
Megan hosted the 2014 edition held in Indonesia where South Africa's Rolene Strauss was crowned her successor, then stayed on as a presenter from 2015 to 2019.
Also hosting is local celebrity Karan Johar with local singers Shaan and siblings Tony and Nehan Kakkar set as performers.
112 contestants are vying to succeed Poland's Karolina Bielawska as Miss World, with Gwendolyne Fourniol representing the Philippines.
To this date, Megan remains the only Philippine titleholder to be crowned Miss World.
