'A whole snack': R'Bonney Gabriel creates golden outfit from chocolate wrappers
MANILA, Philippines — Miss Universe 2022 and Filipino-American model-designer R'Bonney Gabriel has created a new outfit made out of chocolate wrappers.
In a series of posts on social media, R'Bonney showed off a top she made using Ferrero Rocher chocolate wrappers, demonstrating in one video how it came together.
After teasing she had to eat all the chocolates first, the beauty queen cut out circles from the wrappers and poked holes on them.
She first planned the design on a dress form, pinning the golden round wrappers into shape, before applying chainmail, which she had recently learned to connect them all.
R'Bonney paired her sustainable top with denim jeans she applied gold foil transer on, another new technique she learned.
Even the earrings she wore were wrappers, while a makeshift purse was an original Ferrero Rocher container.
"So I can have gold everything head to toe," R'Bonney ended. "Looking like a whole snack."
The beauty queen's outfit earned praises from her peers like Miss Universe Aruba 2022 Kiara Arends and former Miss Universe Organization president Paula Shugart.
Prior to her Miss Universe reign, R'Bonney was an advocate for sustainable fashion, a cause she continues to champion after crowning Nicaragua's Sheynnis Palacios as her successor.
