Myrtle Sarrosa cosplays Nami from 'One Piece'
MANILA, Philippines — Actress-singer and cosplayer Myrtle Sarrosa rides the "One Piece" hype after dressing up as the character Nami from the long-running manga.
Over the weekend, Myrtle posted on her social media accounts videos of herself cosplaying as the orange-haired navigator of the Straw Hat crew.
One video was to promote a sunscreen brand, and the other was of the "Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition 4" winner dancing to Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass" in a swimming pool while in full cosplay.
Myrtle's outfit for Nami were an orange wig, a teal bikini top, and jeans, topped off by the blue tattoo that Nami has on her left arm.
"Nahiya ako tapusin 'yung sayaw," Myrtle admitted of her short performance in the video's caption, adding that she would livestream playing "Garena Call of Duty: Mobile" while dressed up as Nami.
Netflix recently renewed its live-action adaptation of "One Piece" by Eiichiro Oda for a second season following its huge success on the streaming platform.
On Netflix's version of "One Piece," Nami is portrayed by Emily Rudd. Akemi Okamura reprises her voice role as Nami from the anime for the show's Japanese dub.
Myrtle has long been cosplaying before she entered the public eye, with her most recent outfits including Kestrel from "Call of Duty," D.Va from "Overwatch," and Maggie from "Farlight 84."
