Vilma Santos swears 'no retoke, botox' at 60th showbiz anniversary
MANILA, Philippines — "Star for All Seasons" Vilma Santos revealed her beauty secrets all these years, and these, she vowed, did not include "Salamat, Doc!"
At a recent media conference for her launch as new Angkas endorser, "Ate Vi" told Philstar.com in an exclusive interview that she has never went under the knife.
"I've never tried it," the 69-year-old actress-politician said, swearing that she has not tried even going to eyelash extension salons. "Not a single needle! I'm wearing false eyelashes, but never 'yung mga extension."
"Never pa na-Botox. Wala pa," she added.
She, however, clarified that she has nothing against those who have undergone cosmetic procedures.
"I have nothing against it, it's just that 'di palang ako na-prepare doon," she said.
She is also open to try it in the future: "Maybe someday. Why not?"
As for now, she goes for a simple beauty regimen.
"Before I put on my makeup, I see to it that I put cold compress on my face, just to close the pores, para 'wag pumasok 'yung makeup sa loob," she said.
"And before I sleep, I just put hot towel and then I sleep with no makeup, just moisturizer." — Video by Philstar.com/Martin Ramos
