MANILA, Philippines — The relaxation of travel bans and lockdown protocols have allowed pageant organizations to catch up with missed editions during the global pandemic. This is especially true for the Miss International Organization, which failed to hold its annual competition for the years 2020 and 2021.

This early, the Miss International Organization has announced the holding of its 2023 competition. In a social media post, spokesperson Stephen Diaz tweeted that "with around 97 countries confirming their participation for Miss International 2023, starting tomorrow, it's pruning time! Target date for this year's pageant is third week of November."

Before the organization could start whittling down the number, it posted another tweet for clarification. It reads, "112 countries and regions have confirmed participation to the 61st Miss International! The thing is, we can only accommodate around 80."

Which countries will stay and which will be booted out? We will soon find out!

During the Binibining Pilipinas 2023 Top 40 announcement, selection panel member and reigning Binibining Pilipinas International 2022 Nicole Borromeo told Philstar.com that she's revving up for the November final show.

The Miss International Organization has yet to announce the venue and specific date in the third week of November when the 61st edition will take place. Stay tuned!
