A mecca for clean beauty opens in SM Makati
To address the booming trend for clean, sustainable, organic, natural and cruelty-free beauty, Luxasia PH has created SkinSmart, a beauty space in SM Makati offering top clean beauty brands like Dermalogica, Peter Thomas Roth and Kora Organics.
Yes, Kora Organics, the brand founded by Australian model Miranda Kerr, is now in the Philippines! As someone new to the brand, I’m eager to get Kora’s famed “noni glow”! SkinSmart introduced me to products like the Noni Radiant Eye Oil, which has a rose-quartz roller to infuse extra love into your eye treatment. Kora’s latest line Berry Bright is here as well, housed in jeweled jars that will look great on your vanity.
Dermalogica is the brand founded by Jane Wurwand in 1986 known for its minimally packaged, clinically proven beauty products that really deliver results. They also innovated Face Mapping, skin analysis that is now touch-free to conform to today’s safety protocols. My fave Dermalogica products include Daily Microfoliant, a gentle scrub that results in smooth, velvety skin; Total Eye Care with SPF 15, which even color-corrects dark circles; and Skin Smoothing Cream, which has Active Hydramesh Technology to infuse skin with 48 hours of continuous hydration.
Peter Thomas Roth, who was born into a heritage of skincare (his family operated thermal-spring resorts in Hungary), developed his own clinical-grade skincare to address his teenage acne and is now sought out for his iconic masks (my fave is his 24K Gold Mask), Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Moisturizer and Vitamin C serum with Ferulic acid.
SkinSmart has a nook where pro advisers can give you a no-touch skin analysis, recommend which products are best for you and a play area where you can test them. Soon they will have a cabin where you can get facials and treatments, and plan to add more clean beauty brands.

Song kang can’t leave the house without this moisturizer
K-beauty brand Deoproce’s newest moisturizer is Song Kang’s personal skin-rescue fave.
“I can’t leave the house without the Deoproce Skin Rescue Day & Night Moisturizer,” said the Forecasting Love and Weather star. “It keeps my dry skin hydrated throughout the day.”
The moisturizer is part of Deoproce’s new Green Caviar + Skin Rescue line formulated with signature green caviar plus potent sugar kelp and sparkling water to address enlarged pores, excessive oil and roughness.
Song Kang has been Deoproce Philippines’ ambassador since 2021, when the brand was lauded for innovating green sea caviar (known here as lato) in skincare, and choosing a male as its skincare endorser.
“I’m very excited and I hope that people will like it,” Song Kang says about the Green Caviar + Skin Rescue range, which consists of a Cleansing Foam (P690/170ml), Peeling Gel (P790/170ml), Toner (P890/150ml), Ampoule (P1490/30ml), and Day and Night Moisturizer (P1790/100ml).
While green caviar is chock full of vitamins A and C, amino and omega-3 fatty acids, sugar kelp has excellent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that help prevent skin aging. Sparkling water, meanwhile, gently removes dead skin cells and controls excess sebum.
