Casablanca x Bulgari: A playful and ultra-chick of metamorphosis of Serpenti
Bulgari and Casablanca have come together for a playful and ultra-chic metamorphosis of Serpenti.
Casablanca, the brand that mixes the essence of après-sport with the luxury aesthetics of the Mediterranean, delivers an exclusive interpretation of the mythical Bulgari Serpenti icon through a playful and ultra-chic accessories capsule collection.
The collaboration is part of Bulgari’s ongoing collaborative series “Serpenti Through the Eyes Of,” which, since 2017, has captured the endless metamorphosis of the Bulgari snake through the bold visions of different talented designers.
“With Bulgari we share the same love and respect for timeless codes and the ambition to interpret them in new ways: this is the prism we have played with on this collaboration. The collection is both modern and classic at the same time. Serpenti has a thousand-year old iconography behind it and we wanted to bring it back once more but in a modern way, playing with its aesthetic features,” says Charaf Tajer, the French-Moroccan creative director and founder of Casablanca.
Divided into two launches, the seven-piece collection leads through Casablanca’s main worlds of inspiration namely sport with the Après Tennis Story, and artistic heritage with the Mosaic Story.
For the first story, inspired by classic tennis styles and graphic design elements, Casablanca elevates après sport looks playing on the iconic contrast between a white background and green accents. The unique mix of white perforated leather, gold-plated hardware and wood handles refers to the equipment, the mood, colors, details, the looks and the elegant aesthetics from the tennis world.
The theme comes to life in the classic Serpenti Forever shape with the refined color contrast running through every detail of the piece—from the white and green calf leather body to the emblematic snakehead closure. The bag exudes a unique sense of ease, perfect to enjoy every moment of the day.
A distinctive fusion between luxury, leisurewear and jewelry DNA is encapsulated by the fancy Jewellery Box, a sculptural bag inspired by a silver box of the ’20s, part of the Bulgari Heritage Collection.
Its distinctive top conjuring the multiple facets of a precious gemstone is highlighted in green calf leather, while the zip pullers combine the iconic snakehead charm.
Striking the perfect balance of comfort and elegance is the roomy Tote Bag, where the tennis white body is animated with a bold Bulgari logo décor on the front and elegant wood handles. Practical and chic, playful and iconic, modern and timeless, it expresses the duality of the whole collection.
An entirely new shape makes its debut with the mini Serpenti Crossbody Bag, a versatile and functional must-have imbued with Casablanca’s youthful and vivacious spirit.
Topped by the iconic snakehead with enameled scales, the compact and flat bag is endowed with a thick leather strap, where the bold gold-plated meshes are interspersed with Casablanca’s logo.
From the world of après sport to a territory, the second story leads at the heart Rome’s magnificent splendour.
Inspired by the spellbinding mosaics, which paved many of the Eternal City’s most fascinating villas and landmarks, three additional creations boast a vibrant and bold print, fusing a contemporary neo-classicism with Casablanca’s trademark vacation feel.
Propelling the eternal beauty of Rome into modernity, the pattern is printed in a raised texture on top of the calf leather body to convey the three-dimensional texture of the mosaics. The bright colors and design bring a touch of extravaganza to the Serpenti Forever Bag with detachable wood handle and leather strap, the bold Tote bag with polychrome Bulgari logo décor and the new Serpenti Crossbody Bag, with its flat and compact structure topped by the iconic snakehead closure. “Iconicity and contemporaneity. The collection will be released in selected Bulgari boutiques worldwide in two installments, respectively. The Après Tennis theme will be available on April 20, while the Mosaic will be on shelf on May 20.
