Watching movies in the new normal
SM Cinema, naturellement, is giving us a new reason to enjoy watching movies while observing social distancing through Movies By The Bay, a fantastic drive-in movie experience at SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds Block 16.
Movies By The Bay had a successful run at SM City Pampanga.
This brings back the excitement of watching movies under the stars, this time with the renowned Manila Bay sunset and modern Mall of Asia Complex skyline as backdrop. It’s a #SafeAndFunMovieWatching experience — in the new normal — from the comfort of your own car. The opening film was Train To Busan 2: Peninsula, the most anticipated horror movie from South Korea.
Upon arrival, each vehicle is given an assigned parking spot depending on the size of their cars. Traffic marshals will assist guests and direct them to their designated spot.
SM Cinema follows the best safety practices and sanitation protocols. Pursuant to the IATF Guidelines and Safety Protocols, only individuals between ages 21 and 59 will be admitted to enter the SM Cinema Drive-in.
Tickets cost P400 per person, including a Snack Time bundle consisting of bottled water, the must-have regular-sized popcorn, and beef franks. The tickets for the SM Cinema Drive-in must be purchased individually from https://smtickets.com/.
Contactless transactions at SM Cinema include electronic tickets with a QR code for scanning at the SM Cinema Drive-in entrance. Guests are encouraged to scan the QR code for contact tracing and Snacktime food orders
The SM Cinema Drive-in will be open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Entry to the SM Cinema Drive-in will start at 5 p.m. There will be one movie screening per day, which starts at 6:45 p.m. on a 20-meter x 8.5-meter “larger-than-life outdoor screen raised four meters above the ground.” To ensure guests have an optimal viewing experience, the cinema will use a dual projector for sharper and crisp images. Not bad, huh? Not bad at all, palanggas.
Seen enjoying the movie were members of the diplomatic corps, government officials and members of the media.
Check it out, dahlings. You will definitely enjoy SM Cinema’s Movies By the Bay at the SM Mall of Asia. It’s amazing!
