Maridee Rodriguez paints paradise in a solo show at The Podium
Famille members, friends and art lovers gathered together for talented artist Maridee Rodriguez during the opening of “Paradise on Canvas: A Solo Art Exhibit for a Cause,” which is on view at The Podium.
Mandaluyong City Mayor Carmelita “Menchie” Abalos, former Speaker of the House, the brilliant Jose de Venecia and wife Gina, my palangga; international model Tetta Agustin and her husband, Christian Baverey; and Maridee’s classmates from Assumption College were among those who attended the happy occasion.
SM assistant VP Ian Mathay and SVP for marketing Millie Dizon warmly welcomed them.
Mentored by artist Jeffrey Consumo, former President Corazon Aquino’s art teacher, Rodriguez’s paintings feature idyllic landscapes, colorful flora, and moving renditions of everyday life. For Rodriguez, the world is “paradise… God’s creation and gift.” And her works beautifully capture this on canvas.
While Rodriguez’s show celebrates the beauty of nature, it was also an exhibition for a cause. A portion of the proceeds will support the St. Madeleine Sophie Foundation’s education programs for children and youth in Rodriguez, Rizal, the hometown of her husband, former Rep. Isidro Rodriguez Jr.
SM did it again with their cultural presentation of art, dahlings.
