MANILA, Philippines — YouTube influencer Jeffree Star revealed that $2.5 million worth of cosmetics, including unreleased products of his makeup line, was stolen from his company’s warehouse.
“Today I'm sharing what's been going on in my life lately. 2 weeks ago over $2.5 million dollars in Jeffree Star Cosmetics makeup products were stolen, including my new Magic Star concealer. The concealer packaging has now been leaked online a few days ago and I wanted to share how and why,” Jeffree said on his YouTube channel.
In the video, Jeffree said the incident happened in the early hours of March 15, when a team of alleged professional thieves broke in to his Los Angeles facility. The crime was allegedly an inside job “tipped off” by an employee who worked temporarily at the warehouse.
The makeup guru believed the products, which include unreleased concealer items, will be sold in the black market, so Star is asking followers to report suspicious makeup from his line being sold in social media.
Jeffree’s own beauty brand, Jeffree Star Cosmetics, was launched in 2014. The influencer has more than 14 million subscribers on YouTube, four million followers on Twitter and 12 million followers on Instagram.
