Uniqlo today announces that it will roll out the UniqloU 2018 Fall/Winter collection. The collection represents a commitment to reinventing basics as the future of LifeWear.

The Christophe Lemaire-led design team at the brand’s Paris R&D Center is constantly evolving its advanced ideas for the Uniqlo U designs, patterns, fabric development, and sewing techniques. Since the line’s debut two years ago, its mainstay items have become even more attractive, with its innovations transforming into contemporary essentials. The latest collection features a vivid fall and winter color palette and designs with in-trend volumes. It is elegantly timeless while showcasing diverse ideas that symbolize the future of LifeWear.

The collection features brilliant reds and fuchsias as rich and warm accents that symbolize the coming of fall. The styling for this season emphasizes volume through dolman sleeves for women’s fleece blousons and boxy silhouettes for men’s fleece jackets. Women’s items exude comfort and confidence, while men’s pieces convey unpretentious relaxation.

The range includes men’s and women’s BlockTech coats that is water repellent and wind proofed. Women’s coats wick away inside moisture and have snap-on hoods, with hem slits that enhance comfort when walking or seated. This season sees 3D knits employing advanced WholeGarment technology for beautiful silhouettes that are also comfortable. There are two dress and three sweater designs for women. A special spinning technique has resulted in raised looks and soft textures in mélange sweaters. There are also sweaters with vintage-style link knitting and items in comfortable ponte fabrics. The availability of items in-stores will be announced at a later date.

Gerald’s work-to-weekend style hacks

Actor Gerald Anderson Skechers/Released

With Gerald Anderson’s burgeoning career as one of the country’s most sought-after stars, it’s no secret that he maintains a busy, yet well-rounded lifestyle. In between shoots for television shows and movies, Gerald squeezes in time for fitness and fun, too.

With such a hectic schedule, Gerald needs to have his wardrobe planned out along with go-to pieces for a hassle-free week. His daily grind is always paired with his trusted Skechers footwear, designed with trendy styles and comfort technology for people on-the-go.

Match your comfy collared shirt and joggers with the casual office-appropriate shoes. You can never go wrong with button downs. Take it from Gerald and pair your rolled up polo with khaki bottoms. Ace Humpday Wednesdays by looking extra dapper to work (and later, for a date). Top your usual work wear with a new coat or jacket, and be true to play with softer colors to brighten your midweek work hours. Having a long week at work? Break the rut with a workout to de-stress! Pack in your gym bag a pair of after-sport sandals. Make your weekender outfit count by donning your best athleisure look to kick off your well deserved weekend. Gerald loves his blacks ensembles, and for him, Sunday’s Best calls for a good leather jacket and comfiortable shirt and joggers.

Back to the ‘90s

The raw energy of 90s alternative rock heads upstate this season for a camping trip with a difference as Diesel presented its Fall-Winter Collection.

“Fall Winter is about the energy of grunge in the forest at night time. The spirit of rock ’n’ roll is nocturnal and being surrounded by nature after dark can be a strange experience. A lot of crazy things can happen,” explained Diesel Artistic Director Nicola Formichetti.

Styled in a mismatched way, plastic raincoats are worn with silky dresses, whilst stripes and checks are clashed with polka dots and flower prints. The shiny and new is paired with the well-loved and perfectly ‘destroyed’ denim.

Blue is the key color for jeans. There are six new washes for men and eleven for women, from the premium Slow Indigo, crafted using artisan techniques to super soft JoggJeans. Iconic striped grunge knits are transformed by incorporating lace, an element of the precious, whilst characteristic rock leathers, signature zips, and knit beanies appear throughout the collection.

A twisted take on classic Disney tales

Pieces from Disney's new collaboration collection with Coach. Photo release

Two American visionaries and global originals, join forces for Disney x Coach: A Dark Fairy Tale. The special-edition collection subverts classic Disney Princess tales with a dark and romantic twist on Coach ready-to-wear and leather goods.

Found and styled within the brand’s Pre-Fall 2018 collection, the pieces play with spooky undertones and the tension of nostalgic Disney animations to create a halo collection for the season inspired by an American gothic fairy tale of New York.

This collaboration recontextualizes unexpected motifs from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Sleeping Beauty—think dark and dreamy castles, poisoned apples and wide-eyed woodland creatures—for a play to the edgier, darker side. Retro t-shirts with rock-and-roll fonts and a nostalgic color palette are styled with tough moto jackets, while Coach’s recognizable signature print is enhanced with darker graphics and bold leather detailing for an unexpected juxtaposition.

Romanticism in season

American lifestyle brand Tory Burch launched its Fall/Winter Collection 2018.

“From Lee Radziwill’s effortless style to a field of carnations inspired by the drama of Pina Bausch’s Nelken… Romanticism defines the Fall/Winter 2018 mood. Feminine layers mixed with classic tailoring, a modern take on chintz, and contrasts of texture and print. Accessories carry these ideas through in leather bags and pointy-toe shoes,” said Tory Burch.

Silhouettes: Relaxed, yet refined with feminine details. Loose, fluid dresses with scarf hemlines balance tomboy jackets and trim blazers. Layered outerwear — from a classic peacoat to a blanket poncho — adds to the effortless vibe.

The palette balances ivory, pale pink and red with leaf green, deep burgundy and the brand’s signature Tory Navy. The drama is in the details with new fabrications, finishes and textures. Soft, relaxed fabrics — ranging from delicate lace and organza to wool and cashmere— against a structured poplin, cotton chino and a bonded wool satin. Cascading ruffles are finished with an organza edge and a floral is interpreted as a velvet burnout, while top-stitch details on poplin and snap closures bring a sporty element.

Accessories are pared back and refined, putting the focus on natural, effortless style. A handbag, named after Lee, in different fabrications and pointy-toe booties have clean, modern lines, while wishbone rings and a delicate medallion pendant necklace reference good luck talismans.

Dark and enigmatic

Givenchy's fall/winter 2018 runway show pieces. Photo release

The ambient lens of film noir captures the characters of the Givenchy autumn/winter 2018 collection designed by Clare Waight Keller.

Evocative of the grit and glamour of Berlin on the cusp of the 1980s, cinematic vignettes portray the starkly photogenic loucheness embodied by the nightlife of the era.

A social scene not dissimilar unfolds in the early 1990s where a new charismatic generation finds its sass on the lurid club circuit.

Dark and enigmatic, an intensity forms between these moments in time. In an exchange with the historic language of Givenchy, it materializes in a razor-cut silhouette gradually expanding into spirited volumes.

Graphic yet stripped-down lines remain sleek before bursting into rigorous cascading structures. Shiny and metallic surfaces galvanise monochrome coloration and solidify in the tones of petrol: black, tobacco, oily blue, peacock, and deep purple. Archive heritage checks are modernized in graphic compositions.

Glossy yet austere, the mood is expressed in a sense of dishabille dressing: taking its cue from lingerie, slip dresses in Chantilly lace epitomize the slithery lightness of fabrics and cuts. Informed by the haute couture collection – a recurring idea in silhouette and decoration – crisp dry-wool and leather tailoring is sharp and narrow in column coats and long lengths.

Artistry meets craftsmanship

Longchamp FW2018 collection. Photo release

World-renowned for its leather goods, footwear and high-end women’s ready-to-wear apparel, Longchamp has designed a casual yet sophisticated collection where artistry meets craftsmanship for the independent cosmopolitan woman who appreciates French luxury.

Longchamp created its Winter 2018 collection especially for her. Not only is this season’s galloping horse motif inextricably linked to the Amazon woman, it has also been Longchamp’s icon since it was founded in 1948. Horses and everything associated with them stand as symbols of Longchamp’s verve and modern sophistication – and they are the sources of inspiration behind the Winter 2018 wardrobe.

The Amazone line sets the pace of the Winter 2018 collection. Dressed in fringed suede, the Amazon woman is folksy but turns graphic when she struts out in unique quilting with a vertical topstitching pattern, then gets sophisticated in the velvet version adorned with this fine black or pine green fabric, interlacing bridle rings and bits embroidered on top, the leather accentuated by a grosgrain ribbon. She might also be donning gray felt outlined with a braided rabbit fur trim.

The galloping horse and the interlaced bridle rings and bits are printed on billowy silks, faintly embossed into velvet, and woven or finely tone-on-tone embroidered camouflage-style. On a more graphic note, the bridles almost become stripes.

Khaki, honey and plum are mellowed out by hues of burgundy, nude, mocha and blush. These sophisticated combos brighten up the deep black, true gray and subtle pilot blue.

Bygone era spirit

Remaining true to the spirit of a bygone era, English supermodel Edie Campbell is joined by China’s Wang Chen Ming in Bally’s charmingly nostalgic Autumn-Winter campaign.

Carried away amidst a daydream, the campaign solidifies the Swiss brand’s refined sportswear aesthetic with a modern take on luxury.

Shot in the English countryside by American photographer Colin Dodgson with art direction by Ben Kelway, the subtly captured narrative of everyday existence results in an unassumingly powerful campaign in which Bally’s authentic heritage and contemporary product take prominence.

Francesca Burns adds her elevated and individual twist to the styling in this atmospheric portrayal of a late 70’s summer evening. The campaign launched globally on July 12 with a robust digital and social media strategy.

Italian attitude

Light and agile with sophisticated detail in the design, this leather, straight out of a research workshop, accompanies the sophisticated woman as she travels the world with her accessories.

As dynamic as her own style, she moves through the colors. Iconic pieces used in layers, their secrets concealed by zips and ribbing. Oversize bags add charm, alternating with extra small luxuries in leather.

Her new winter season features waxed split-grain leathers and polished varnishes, saddler stitching, and extra light down padding: all the result of an ongoing work in progress through which Tod’s translates its heritage as it looks to the future.

Tod’s revisits the elegance of the leather bucket bag, transforming into a new cross body bag brimming with secrets. With or without ribbing, this new bag is distinctive for its D-shaped opening; for the maxi-charms dangling from the zip pull on the outside pocket; for the new double shoulder strap that alternates with a leather handle.

A mobile bag, wallet bag, and lipstick bag, to be worn all together, an eccentric, dynamic belt that speaks luxury and offers absolute freedom.

Winter Gommino is the iconic laced model with the rubber sole takes back control of its codes and presents itself with a biker inspired shape and spirit. The signifier of the rubber studs on the heel and the logo can be seen through the laces on the upper.

Value for money

Gap launches its new Fall collection with prices that are better than ever.

The Good Creates Good campaign highlights the Gap for Good programs, which are all about making good products with good fits that are good for the world, by using less water and sustainable materials to create a virtuous circle.

Designers at Gap have developed Washwell smart wash techniques, which help save water and reduce pollution without losing the look and feel of denim customers love.

Since its inception, the Washwell process has helped save more than 60 million liters of water, while also cutting down on energy use.

Gap is also introducing Soft Wear, a curated collection of super soft garments for men and women. This ridiculously soft fabric is engineered to fit to perfection. It’s all about good fits that let you live, work, play and move in total comfort while still looking cool.

The carbon brushed fleece is also a new addition to look out for Men this Fall. Coming in full zip hoodies, crew necks and pullover hoodies styles, the new fleece fabrication is incredibly soft and super durable thanks to the unique way it’s made.

For GapKids, the Super Denim collection is a range of jeans that is universal, comfortable and resilient, designed to let kids be kids and enjoy their everyday adventures. The Super Denim in the Fantastiflex is made of soft and stretchy fabric available in slim, jogger and skinny fit for Boys; girlfriend, jeggings, and super skinny fit for Girls.

‘80s-inspired

The A|X Armani Exchange men’s collection stays true to the brand’s youthful, urban, offbeat spirit. The logo is featured in bold, oversized versions, and in all-over print designs. Clothes and accessories are personalised with patches and studs, with camouflage, houndstooth and mini geometric patterns, and with digital, photographic or graffiti-inspired prints.

Bold and full of personality, the A|X Armani Exchange women’s collection showcases 1980s-inspired clothes and accessories, featuring contrasting materials and shapes, and vibrant color blocking.

The palette goes from pastel pink to burgundy, through warm orange and red, paired with classic black and white, or gold and silver. The collection includes simple, basic elements, updated and effective, combined with ideas that reflect current trends. Personality-enhancing looks include short dresses with subtle, masculine details, worn with fishnet stockings and high boots or metallic-finish ankle boots.

Midas touch

Jimmy Choo unveils its Autumn-Winter 2018 Women’s campaign starring the powerful model trio Joan Smalls, Lily Aldridge, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley who lend a Midas touch to the golden themed collection.

The campaign opens with a playful film directed by Gordon von Steiner portraying the striking trio embarking on a girl’s night in — a game of dress up with a closet of dreams ending in a dance off set to Sofi Tukker’s dance anthem ‘Bestfriend.’ A series of arresting stills complement the film captured by Lachlan Bailey with the Autumn Winter collection’s gilded theme shinning omniscient throughout the imagery.

“Joan, Lily, and Rosie are very different girls but combined they embody the essence of the Jimmy Choo woman; confident, daring with a playful side. The girls are friends in real life which created a great atmosphere on set which is echoed in the film and images, they are beautiful and know how to have fun,” said Sandra Choi, Creative Director.
