MANILA, Philippines — Since September is a big fashion issue for many magazines worldwide and it marks the start of a new fall-winter season in major Fashion Weeks all over the globe, Julie Anne San Jose gives some fashion and shopping tips to those on the lookout for the latest style finds in time for the many parties that are about to come this –Ber months.
“Asia's Pop Sweetheart” Julie Anne has added yet another achievement to put on her track record — her latest single "Tayong Dalawa" has reached number 1 on the iTunes Philippines All-Genre Chart just 30 minutes after its release. This is her second consecutive certified number 1 hit under Universal Records, following the chart-topping release of her debut single "Nothing Left" on the same chart earlier this year.
The Kapuso singer wants to collaborate with Kapamilya singers Lea Salonga and Gary Valenciano.
In an interview with the media during the re-launch of Bell Films where she performed, the so-called “Asia’s Pop Sweetheart” said she looks forward to work with “Miss Lea Salonga and Tito Gary.”
“Sobrang nakaka-ispire ng mga songs nila; not only their songs but also (them) as persons,” she added.
Now signed with Universal Records, Julie Anne said she wrote some of her songs in her album.
“It’s very important na magsulat ng bagong kanta. It’s such a great feeling din ‘pag may na-accomplish kang isang bagay na parang ‘wow, naisulat ko pala to’ some stuff like that. Kapag narinig mo na ‘yung final output ‘yun talaga ‘yung importate na bagay,” she said.
“For me mas madaling magsulat ng kanta pag nasa peak ka ng emotions mo –wheather you are super sad, super happy or super angry. Pag sinulat mo yung kanta, sobrang special din sayo kasi galing sa puso.”
When asked what is her priority – singing or acting, Julie Anne said both because she can handle it.
“Recently nagte-taping ako ng ‘My Guitar Princess.’ I think sabay talaga eh. Pero bago kasi magstart yung My Guitar Princess, natapos na naming yung recording ng kanta for the album.”
But the successful actress and singer said she wants more accomplishments in life, so she is working hard to achieve it.
“Marami pa akong gustong i-explore. For me it’s more accomplishment and achievement. I think para makamit mo yung success in life you really have to be happy.”
The singer and actress was a special guest during the recent opening of Japanese retailer Miniso at SM Aura Premier.
