MANILA, Philippines — Just like in her other movies like “She’s Dating the Gangster” and “Crazy Beautiful You,” “Teen Queen” Kathryn Bernardo has a signature look in her upcoming movie with reel- and real-life boyfriend Daniel Padilla.

In “The Hows of Us,” she said she wore the shades of her new makeup line done in collaboration with Filipino beauty brand Happy Skin.

The actress shared that since she has “morena” or brown skin, finding the right makeup shade used to be hard for her, which is why she was hands-on in choosing the shades that will go into the first collection of Generation Happy Skin, the brand’s diffusion line that caters to a younger market like Kathryn.

According to Happy Skin founders and owners Rissa Mananquil-Trillo and Jacqe Yuengtian-Gutierrez, Kathryn made sure that the shades in the collection cater to different skin tones, most especially, Filipino morena skin.

Unlike other celebrity makeup lines, Kathryn’s does not have her face and name splattered all over the collection’s packaging since she wants the collection to be described as “authentic, ace, and accessible.”

“We all want something that’s easy to use and effortless. You don’t need a lot to look beautiful,” she enthused. “Personally, I like being simple. I like doing my makeup, but I don’t like changing my face.”

Kathryn said she is particularly proud of the collection’s powder blush, which she guaranteed to be easy to use with a brush, especially among beginners.

She also vouched for the collection’s “no-clump” mascara, which she recommended to those who do not like wearing false eyelashes like her. “Kasi antukin ako!” she said on why she dislikes false eyelashes or “falsies.”

Rissa and Jacqe said Kathryn’s makeup line got sold out within hours even before it was officially launched, but fresh stocks from the cosmetics line’s manufacturers in Korea and Taiwan are now available in Happy Skin’s boutiques and online store. — Video by Deni Rose M.
