Rustan’s brings the heart of Morocco to Manila

Well, dahlings, it had to be Rustan’s to bring the heart of exciting Morocco to our shores at the fifth level of Rustan’s Makati.

This August, delight in the full Moroccan experience as Rustan’s brings the sights, sounds and tastes of this fascinating city through its month-long festival titled “Le Coeur du Maroc” (The Heart of Morocco).

During the colorful opening night, invitees and patrons were transported to the street markets of Morocco with an astonishing display of authentic Moroccan merchandise, plus festive sounds by the Moroccan musicians and artisans doing henna hand tattoo and traditional Arabic calligraphy.

A ceremonial toast was made between Khalid Fathi of the Moroccan National Tourism Office in China, Consul General of Morocco Rico Tantoco, Monia Zaoui and husband Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco Mohammed Rida El Fassi, Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, Rustan Commercial Corp. chairman emeritus Ambassador Bienvenido Tantoco Sr. and Rustan Commercial Corp.’s hardworking chairman and CEO Zenaida “Nedy” Tantoco, together with partners HSBC Philippines and Raffles & Fairmont Hotel.

The dignitaries offered a toast (Moroccan mint tea) to mark the opening of the festival. Après, the guests continued to celebrate and explored the fifth floor to discover further what Rustan’s Moroccan Festival had to offer with many of them buying gorgeous items, dahlings.

This August, indulge all senses as you savor the hard-to-beat food, dance to the music and treat your eyes to the beauty and color that comes from the glorious Kingdom of Morocco only at the premier retailer’s flagship store, Rustan’s Makati, palanggas!

The très creative and talented Juan Carlo Evaristo, principal artist behind Otsirav’e Jewelry Design, presented his exquisite designs, as well as gorgeous kaftans made of imported materials in an exclusive trunk show held recently at Collectiones New York Showroom San Lorenzo Village Makati.

Special guest was former President and now House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Carlo’s loving and very supportive mom Marieliese Evaristo was beaming with pride, dahlings.
