White Caviar Illuminating Pearl Infusion returns the skin to its youthful, clear self. Skin tone is brightened and dark spots fade. Exclusively available at Rustan’s for P27,450.

La Prairie recently launched its latest skincare solution to women’s dark spots and redness problems. White Caviar Illuminating Pearl Infusion was developed to return skin to its youthful, clear self. Skin tone is brightened, dark spots fade and the development of future spots is impeded before it begins, firmness and elasticity are restored.

Encapsulated in iridescent white caviar pearls that remain intact until the very last drop, White Caviar Illuminating Pearl Infusion addresses the three key barriers to a bright, even complexion in one breakthrough formula.

What causes skin to look dull and old? Redness, age spots that develop over time and the dull grey film caused by environmental factors.  So the scientists at La Prairie targeted chromatic light-barriers to a luminous complexion to brighten and lift skin with visible results in just four weeks. La Prairie scientists have discovered that skin’s uneven tone and loss of luminosity are due not only to melanin-induced spots but also to redness and dullness, thus they developed a concentrated formula containing golden caviar extract and a stable, oil soluble form of vitamin C. Combined with innovative Diglucosyl Gallic Acid (DGA), this formula targets the three major types of skin chromatic disorders.

Dark spots on the skin, often called age spots, are caused mainly by sun damage. When triggered by UV light, melanocyte cells in the basal layer of the epidermis begin to synthesize the brown pigment melanin, which is then distributed throughout the epidermis. The active ingredient DGA addresses this by down-regulating the master switch of melanin production and by limiting the spread of melanin throughout the skin, ensuring a brighter appearance and a reduction in age spots. In addition, a stable derivative of vitamin c, protected by the pearls and freshly released at every application, reduces the intensity of the color of melanin that contributes to the visibility of age spots.

Everyday stress can lead to permanently irritated skin expressing signs of redness. Stress factors include: lifestyle-induced cortisol, UV light, pollutants and chemicals that damage the skin’s natural protective barrier. The DGA in White Caviar Illuminating Pearl Infusion’s new Illuminating Complex is a potent anti- irritant that inhibits the formation of prostaglandin E2, a mediator of skin irritation that contributes to skin redness.

Atmospheric and domestic pollution that assaults the skin, particularly in urban areas, contributes to a grey, dull complexion. Mature, dry or sensitive skin types are especially vulnerable to pollutants. The shell of the caviar pearls in White Caviar Illuminating Pearl Infusion shields the skin from these harmful particles. The pearls’ matrix itself consists of different polysaccharides.

One of these polysaccharides offers a strong anti-pollution action by forming a protective “second skin.” Its unique structure allows active ingredients to penetrate the skin while shielding it from particles and heavy metals that can damage cells and contribute to a dull appearance.

The launch was held with a display of Jewelmer’s pearl jewelry pieces and a short talk on how pears are harvested and made into gorgeous jewelry.
