Ylona Garcia and Bailey May get cozy with Bench
Are they or aren’t they? Like heartthrobs on campus, three floors of fans at the Market! Market! Activity Center screamed for Pinoy Big Brother: 737 alums Ylona Garcia and Bailey May last November 13 launching the two as Bench’s newest endorsers.
True to Bench’s Holiday 2016 varsity-themed collection, the two juggle their studies (Ylona goes to Angelicum College while Bailey at Eton International School) with their show business dreams. From landing roles in primetime hit series On the Wings of Love with James Reid (another PBB alum) and Nadine Lustre to releasing singles and their own debut albums (they closed the show with a duet of their song “O Pag-ibig”), they now join the aforementioned JaDine as well Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo, who all represent the local retail giant. Equally, a Bench endorsement affirms one’s stardom, a sign that you’ve arrived. All three love teams are now on Bench’s holiday campaign materials.
“We are Bench’s youngest love team! We feel honored,” says Bailey.
While the other two love teams have made their reel-life romance real, Ylona says they are “Taking things slow, enjoying the ride, enjoying the friendship.” The Philippine STAR caught up with showbiz’s next big love team.
The Philippine STAR: What are your fashion essentials?
YLONA GARCIA: Crop tops worn with high-rise jeans, high-rise culottes, and chokers. Almost all the pieces from the fashion show actually
BAILEY MAY: I always buy Bench’s eyewear. I always like Bench’s sandos and t-shirts. I like the new ones. I’m wearing a sando now, it’s varsity-themed.
How are you updating your wardrobe to something holiday-ready?
GARCIA: I’ll add a statement shirt like this one that I’m wearing now (it says “My boyfriend is better than yours”) under a jacket. I love this red fedora, but I can’t wait to try on the beret.
MAY: The new Bench bomber jackets. Some are long, some are quilted. They’re perfect for travel.
Favorite Christmas song?
GARCIA: All I Want For Christmas Is You.
MAY: Mistletoe.
What gifts would you like to give and receive to and from each other?
GARCIA: Secret! I want to make it a surprise.
MAY: More time — quality time. It’s the most important gift you can receive from one another, getting to know each other.
GARCIA: Not just to spend time together on work days but also on our free days and get to know him more so it’s not puro work. (Pauses) Oh, I know — you can give me food!
MAY: You can give me food, too. You copied my answer.
