Dear Rissa,
I love the beach all year-round. I particularly love taking beach trips during the “ber” months. Where can I find pretty one-of-a-kind cover-ups even if it’s not the summer season?
Tania
You must check out this recently launched website wheretwofindme.com by style mavens Marielle Santos-Po and Rosanna Ocampo-Rodriguez. This site embraces the resort lifestyle and tropical glamour. It features unique pieces, from tops, kaftans, and dresses to swimsuit cover-ups. I particularly love how some of their tops have statement prints that work wonderfully when half-tucked in your favorite jeans. Pair them with killer heels and shoulder-grazing earrings for an instant style statement. You get good wardrobe mileage because their pieces are not just for the beach, but also chic enough to wear in the city — perfect for Sundays, weekend brunches, and as loungewear. I also appreciate how the site shows how a piece looks at every angle — front, sides, and back, and close-up, too! There are tops you’ll discover that make a stylish entrance, but make an even more beautiful exit because of the gorgeous back details.

Perfect ‘Baking’ For Poreless Skin
Dear Lucy,
Must I wear foundation? I have clear and smooth but very oily skin. I have been told to use matte foundation to keep the oil at bay. I try loose powder, but it still is not enough.
Anne
No, I don’t think you need to wear foundation. In fact, you must celebrate your clear and beautiful skin by not wearing foundation and, if at all, very sparingly. What I think would benefit you is this technique called baking, wherein you basically puff a copious amount of loose powder on your skin. Do this as a first step, because it takes some time. If you “under-bake,” you risk looking like a human being who fell face flat on a pool of powder. There is nothing glamorous about the process, trust me, but the results are wonderful.
Pat on good-quality loose powder — I like using the one from Chanel or Dior or Laura Mercier. Dress up, do your eyes, lashes, go about doing your chores until you finally and absolutely have to step out of the house. It is at that point when you must dust off the excess. As the day goes by, you will see how perfect “baking” will make your skin look beautiful and poreless. Keep in mind that it will look better as the day goes by.
A faster way to do this would be to apply loose powder (Bare Minerals is a favorite), after which you mist your face liberally with rosewater to set the powder. Good powder that has been applied well should make you look polished, not dry and flat. Do use blush and a quick dusting of illuminating ambient powder. For the latter, Hourglass ambient powder is lovely.
