The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Last Aug. 13, at the new and more stylish House of Miladay store on Jupiter St., Bel-Air, Makati, the Miladay family celebrated its 49th birthday. Guests were warmly welcomed by the Dayrit siblings — Yvonne, Christine, Michelle, Jacqui and Mark — who were all wearing outfits with a touch of yellow to honor the Miladay color.

What started as a dream in 1966 is now in its 49th year, standing with pride and joy as one of the country’s well-loved Filipino jewelry brands. Miladay has truly come a long way and these past years are worth celebrating. For 49 years, Miladay has made a mark in the jewelry industry by creating beautiful and stunning pieces that speak to the heart.

The event was catered by chef Jessie Sincioco, also known as the “Papal chef.” Guests enjoyed the charming décor at the venue and the exciting raffle, as Miladay gave out 49 raffle prizes to commemorate nearly half a century in the business. A few of the prizes were South Sea pearl earrings, gold rings and pendants, weekend stay at Raffles Hotel, Bayleaf Hotel, Sonya’s Garden Bed & Breakfast, and a trip to HUMA Island & Resorts, plus many more.

Joining the celebration was one of Miladay’s first clients, Susan Roces, who came in wearing her own Miladay jewelry and the wedding band given to her by the late Fernando Poe Jr. on their wedding day, Dec. 25, 1968. “I always wear my wedding ring to remind me to be faithful always,” she said. The presence of the Queen of Filipino Movies added more love to the event, proof of the long years Miladay has been part of the lives of many Filipinos.

In line with the celebration, Miladay happily launched the Miladay Passport, hosted by Alexandra Dayrit, a third-generation Dayrit Jeweler. The Miladay Passport is every valued client’s jewel identity — it certifies that her jewelry is an authentic Miladay piece. The passport is Miladay’s gift to every client, showing her that she is loved, deserving only premium value in every piece she purchases. It also entitles her to special privileges that only Miladay can provide.

A few of the privileges and perks for passport holders are VIP treatment whenever you visit any Miladay branch, as well as exceptional offers from Miladay and partners. The beauty of this passport is that, like jewelry, it can also be passed on from generation to generation, sending the message that Miladay values its customers and their investment.

Adds Mila Salgado Dayrit: “I dream that each Filipino will own a Miladay, no matter how small.”
