Shoes that smell of vanilla? Only from Jelly Bunny

In a cupcake café whose interiors make you want to be seven years old  again and have a tea party with all your classmates,  Thai brand Jelly Bunny introduced its fall-winter collection called Wonderwoods.

Vanilla Cupcake was the perfect venue for such a gathering — and for such shoes. Believe it or not, Jelly Bunny shoes smell of sweet vanilla.

When we first hear this and assistant brand director Vijay Kumar sees us looking doubtful, he says, “Go ahead, smell them.”

To our surprise, they do smell of vanilla! Vijay says Jelly Bunny uses a special process to incorporate the scent of vanilla to “heighten the wearer’s sense of smell.”

This fits into the company’s narrative for its shoes: that each collection tell a wonderful story. For Wonderwoods, the story revolves around “an enchanted forest full of mysteries and surprises. It is a playful moment with berries, bunnies and flowers on shiny jelly shoes with a touch of sparkling fairy dust. Deep within this magical environment, brightness emerges from darkness where the beautiful colors of crystals are reflected all over while velvet touches and more dramatic details are on metallic surfaces. It is a collection that celebrates a magical connection with nature.”

The colors of the Wonderwoods collection are as delicious as cupcakes — pink, blue, cream, light purple, white, yellow, red — the kind whose icing you want to scoop up with your fingers and eat.
