Rock the sports luxe look with Primadonna

Lai S. Reyes - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - RiRi is doing it. Cara Delevingne looks good in it. Gwen rocks it.

Channeled by some of the most fashionable Hollywood celebrities, the sports luxe trend is fresh, bold and probably here to stay — at least for the holidays.

While it may look easy to pull off, there is a fine line between looking luxe and looking downright lazy. The rule of thumb is to never dress head-to-toe in sporty fashion. Instead, pick one edgy piece to polish off your workout clothes and build upon luxe layers.

“Shoes are the quickest way to achieve a winning sports luxe ensemble,” says Primadonna marketing director Denise Reyes at the launch of Primadonna’s pre-holiday “Sports Luxe” shoe collection at Lugang Cafe in SM Megamall.

The shoes you choose, Denise adds, will dictate how the rest of your outfit plays out. One can style designer sneakers with pretty dresses or maxi skirts; or pointy heels with track pants for a glam vibe.

Primadonna lets you “sportify” a luxe outfit with the season’s must-have footwear — chunky platforms, thick-soled kicks and man-repeller slides — popularized by designers Alexander Wang and Helmut Lang. The local shoe brand makes these pieces more accessible, with price points ranging from P1,299.95 to P2,999.95.

Clad in a striped dress, a coat and skater flats, Denise says Primadonna’s pre-holiday collection is the brand’s gift to women like me who struggle with anything beyond two inches.
