MANILA, Philippines - With our busy, hectic lives, staying fit usually takes a back seat. But fitness, more than being a chore or a nice-to-have activity, is actually essential for us to function at our optimal levels at work, at home, and at play.
A strong body means a strong mind and heart that will take us through the challenges of everyday life. There are always different approaches to fitness and we just have to find what works best for us, and our individual circumstances.
This is what Kickass Philippines believes in as it strives to become one of the country’s premier fitness communities. It aims to define new approaches to fitness and endeavors to inspire Filipinos to “kick out the excuse and embrace awesome.”
Founded by Ruby Gan, renowned Philippine retailer, power lifter (Philippine Team) and long-time exercise enthusiast, Kickass Philippines will put together an exciting series of events and initiatives to formally launch the community.
The team behind Kickass Philippines includes Takbo.ph’s Quennie Gavan, international marathoner and triathlete, Mench Dizon (www.wandermench.com), and super couple TJ and Em Sulit of Game Changer. Previous Kickass Philippines events included a month-long fitness and wellness expo at Commercenter south of Manila.
The Kickass Series, to be launched in Makati, is comprised of regular community events meant to ignite interest and inspiration. Every other month, starting October, 2015, Kickass Philippines will hold one-of-a-kind learning sessions for weekend warriors, active families, and curious newbies.
On Saturday, Oct. 17, the Kickass Series presents “Strollin’ With My Homies” at the Ayala Triangle Gardens. Celebrity coach couple Ani and Dan Brown will share how you can mix fit and function, and even use baby gear like the stroller, to make your workout more interesting. Attendees also include coach Rio and Nicole dela Cruz, Anthony and Maricel Pangilinan, Amanda Griffin, among others.
