Boyish romanticism, geometric lines from Gucci

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Gucci’s latest collection portrays a sophisticated woman who dresses to please herself rather than others.

The autumn/winter 2014-2015 collection takes its cue from Gucci’s heritage while marking a turning point. “I felt the need to materialize the essence of Gucci,” says creative director Frida Giannini. “A longing for precision, clean lines with precious materials and a new color palette — this is glamour at its purest.”

Daywear essentials reflect boyish romanticism and inspirational Sixties style icons. Geometric, form-fitting lines characterize the collection and collide with soft furs. Outfits with sartorial pants, tailored to the ankle, alternate with A-line mini-dresses.

For evening, the embroidered mini-dress replaces the gown. An abstract horsebit characterizes monochromatic black looks, accented by contrasting python boots, followed by a game of hand-painted, smoky crystals that light up after dark.

For accessories, the Jackie is crafted as never before in unlined calfskin with refined deconstruction. This bag’s symbolic metal piston closure becomes the protagonist of all shapes — totes and maxi totes, briefbags and the shoulder bag in calfskin, python and crocodile.

In the Philippines, Gucci is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) — a member of The SSI Group — and is located at Greenbelt 4, Ayala Center and Level 1, Shangri-La Plaza East Wing.
