Sarah Jessica Parker: Loving bags at SM Store

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - “I love bags.  They say a lot about you,” says Hollywood style icon Sarah Jessica Parker, the face of The SM Store’s Love to Shop campaign.

And SJP knows all about bags.  It is said that the “It” bag rose to become not just a trend, but a moment of cultural significance when SJP’s character Carrie Bradshaw clutched Fendi’s oblong Baguette bag on the cult series Sex and the City in 1997.  The Baguette was so named because its design allows it to be carried under the arm like a loaf of French bread, which she did in her amazing style.

But a woman’s choices of bags do say a lot about her.  Joanna Steele-Perkins, a senior image consultant with Color Me Beautiful, agrees saying, “a woman’s handbag reflects her mind.”

Women who like unusual handbags with perhaps an ethnic feel to them are probably creative and artistic in their approach to dressing.  Those that have to have the latest bag as seen in magazines have a dramatic personality, and like to be noticed as they enter a room; while those who choose handbags that are conservative in color and shape have a classic personality.

If you like pretty bags with plenty of detail, perhaps beaded or floral, you have a romantic personality.  Women whose bags are elegant, understated, chic, and neutral in color are probably very international in their dress preferences and their approach to life.

A wide assortment of bags is available at the Ladies Bag Department of The SM Stores.  Styles may vary per branch.    Like the SM Store on Facebook www.facebook.com/thesmstore”www.facebook.com/thesmstore and Twitter and Instagram  @thesmstore.
