MANILA, Philippines - Len Nepomuceno, designer to diplomats and foreign dignitaries, launched her holiday 2014 collection in “Come Through for Cebu: Fashion for a Cause,†a benefit fashion show for the survivors of super typhoon Yolanda. The event, spearheaded by Len’s husband Raha Mortel, who is also president of the International Basketball Alliance, was held at the Ruamrudee International School in Bangkok, where the designer is now based.
The third of a series of projects, which include “Food for a Cause†and “Play for a Cause,†the fashion show drew guests including Philippine Ambassador to Thailand Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia, US Embassy deputy chief of mission Patrick Murphy’s wife; Kathleen Norman, mother Barbara Norman and children; other foreign dignitaries based in Thailand and their family members and Bangkok’s socialites and celebrities.
They were welcomed by Ruamrudee International School’s
Fr. Apisit Kritsaralam, C.Ss.R, school director; Dr. Peter Toscano, head of school; Fr. Jetana Kitcharoen, C.Ss.R, assistant school director; and Sudha Maroli, deputy head of school; Sudarat Tanattanawin, wife of Thailand Ambassador to Pakistan, also from RIS.
US Ambassador to Thailand Kristie Kenney also attended the show and even graced the catwalk wearing one of Nepomuceno’s creations.
