Das Reyes and Bea Tantoco: From best friends to best mates
The youngest in a brood of seven, Bea Vargas Tantoco, was known as the little princess. Attending the International School Manila, she met her seventh-grade classmate Tulsidas Consunji Reyes, who became her best friend until they graduated from high school.
Because of her love for singing, Bea was not too keen to join Rustan’s, the family’s giant retail business, because she wanted to make a profession out of a hobby. In a short span of time, Bea became one of the most successful in her field, landing important gigs left and right. A decade later, the grade school friendship turned into love between the songstress and the business executive, culminating in a beautiful and touching wedding ceremony officiated by Fr. Tito Caluag in the Tantoco’s Sta. Elena Golf & Country Estate in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Designing the bridal dress was a labor of love between Bea and her sister Katrina Lobregat. New Yorker was commissioned to make the gown to fit the bride’s lithe figure with sparse beading and floral accents that were sprinkled all over the dress. It was truly a family affair with sister-in-law Hindy Tantoco designing the gowns of bridesmaids and female entourage, while the artistic mother of the bride Nena, personally decorated her outstanding 10-bedroom house and garden for the wedding reception.
Considering that the Tantoco and Reyes clans are quite large, the guests were composed mostly of family and close friends that made us all feel the intimacy of the occasion. Rico and Nena Tantoco gave the couple their most basic advice on how to keep a loving relationship strong.
“We hope you find true happiness in things you choose to do. Lean on each other’s strengths; forgive each other’s weaknesses.â€
