MANILA, Philippines -You can describe her jewelry as elegant ethnic, the kind you'd want to wear with denims. But you can also go haute couture with it as she also uses precious stones and diamonds,
Elisabeth Paradon, the jewelry creator behind Ziio, has a story behind her gems. It is the story of her travels — from mystical Egypt to gorgeous Greece to exotic Thailand — and she weaves the character of these places into her necklaces and bracelets. Elisabeth further went to Venice to learn the ancient art of Murano master glassmakers. Then onward to the trend temples of the world — Milan and Paris, where she collaborated with important fashion houses like Lacroix, Missoni and Studio Mendini for Swatch. Her combination of semi-precious stones, silver and Murano glass beads, fashioned by hand with sophisticated workmanship, has attracted royalty. Queen Rania of Jordan looks stunning in a Ziio necklace.
Rustan's president Nedy Tantoco spotted her jewelry pieces in Europe and soon invited Elisabeth, who is now based in Tuscany, to display her pieces at Rustan's Makati and Rustan's Shangri-La where they are available.
