The brand’s latest collection emphasizes the importance of individual style, supported by a new marketing campaign filled with real people. The collection focuses on the core of the brand, denim. Its heritage fits and washes are accented by detailed tops, cool layers and stylish accessories.
For the American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) girl, there is an assortment of trends to play off of denim. The Old School Cool trend shows off vintage inspiration in statement jackets, the Girlfriend Shirt, stripes, and one of the season’s favorite pieces, the varsity jacket. Vintage Surplus is another big theme, seen especially through layering in outerwear with surplus details and rugged hints in shirts and pants. Denim is crucial, rooting the heritage feel of the entire collection with dark washes, destroyed and vintage details and slim fits. Accessories feature key pieces like slouchy beanies, baseball hats, sneakers and sunglasses that complete the look.
