How Swiss it is!

MANILA, Philippines -Savoy Collections, an innovative Swiss-made luxury watch brand, recently opened its first shop in Manila.

The company was founded by Pascal Savoy, former president of Hublot America, in 2009 and the Savoy Collections was launched worldwide at the 2011 Basel World Fair in Switzerland where it was immediately credited for its distinctive features and bold designs. Combining his years of top industry experience with his passion for creating and designing, Savoy developed the brand’s Icon Extreme and Icon Light collections, which feature a completely unique round-face, squared barrel design, and a patented interchangeable insert system. The inserts, which are prominent on the straps of every Savoy watch, come in a variety of colors and designs but what really sets them apart is that the inserts are fully customizable and can be personalized to the clients’ tastes.

Savoy relates, “I once had a customer who asked if I could customize the inserts of his watch to match his treasured Ferrari. I was happy to do it and to see him so pleased made it really worth it.”

Savoy, a Swiss native, is a firm adherent of Swiss expertise when it comes to watchmaking. That all his watches are made in Switzerland is a given, but he goes above and beyond to get many of the same suppliers as well-known, high-end Swiss brands. Despite this, Savoy opted to keep the watch prices affordable. “I saw a gap on the market for a well-designed, Swiss-made but reasonably priced watch,” he says.   

Savoy was officially launched last May 15 at the New World Hotel in Makati. Pascal Savoy cut the ribbon together with Ballsy Aquino-Cruz. Gracing the event were brand ambassadors Iza Calzado, Paul Cabral, Gretchen Ho, Michelle Gumabao, Amanda Lapus, and Vanna Lim along with exclusive distributor Timebound Trading’s chairman and CEO Chito Bautista.

“Manila is an emerging market,” says Savoy. “Here, I see opportunity.”

When asked about his motivation, Savoy’s philosophy is refreshingly simple. He says with a smile, “I just want the customer to be happy.”
