Crème de la Mer makes waves at World Oceans Day 2013
MANILA, Philippines - La Mer celebrates World Oceans Day 2013 by supporting ocean conservation around the world through two prominent organizations — National Geographic Society and Oceana.
In addition, La Mer’s highly sought-after, 100ml jar of Crème de la Mer with a new limited-edition modern design that commemorates the importance of World Oceans Day is now available.
This year La Mer has expanded its partnership with National Geographic Society by working with the Society’s renowned resident ocean-explorer and living legend Dr. Sylvia Earle to delve into the history of underwater habitat protection, address actionable changes for future preservation, and support National Geographic Society ocean missions globally.
La Mer is proud to re-unite with Oceana, the world’s largest international ocean advocacy organization, for the eighth consecutive year. In support of their Habitat Protection Campaign, as well as other global initiatives for ocean conservation, La Mer has donated a total of over $1 million to date to Oceana in support of World Oceans Day.
La Mer’s founder Dr. Max Huber recognized the value of the living ocean when he pioneered the use of sea kelp in the cream that renewed and restored the look of his skin. Today, in a tribute to his legacy, La Mer continues to help preserve the natural habitat of this special sea plant by using only sea kelp that has been sustainably hand harvested.

Leona Lewis is The Body Shop’s new brand activist
British singer and global superstar Leona Lewis is The Body Shop’s new brand activist.
Seven years since her triumph on The X Factor (UK), Leona has $20-million album sales and a glittering collection of awards and award nominations, yet remains grounded and true to her beliefs. An animal lover and long-time vegetarian, Leona is the perfect partner for The Body Shop and its unique vision of cruelty-free beauty.
As part of the partnership, one of Leona’s first activities is to help The Body Shop and NGO Cruelty Free International in their joint global campaign to end animal testing for cosmetics forever, building on the EU ban on animal testing for cosmetics which came into effect last March 11.
Leona has also put her name to an exclusive cruelty-free make-up and fragrance collection, the Limited Edition Collection by Leona Lewis. Featuring 100% vegetarian cosmetics in fashion-forward shades, the Limited Edition Collection by Leona Lewis features quirky packaging with a floral deer motif, celebrating the fact that The Body Shop was one of the first beauty brands to use cruelty-free, man-made musk instead of musk derived from the musk deer. The Limited Edition Collection by Leona Lewis is now available at The Body Shop stores.

Pulpe de Vie: Anti-aging products that make you look and feel good
Pulpe de Vie was born from the desire of a young woman in love with the South of France to offer woman the promise of quality beauty, full of nature and spontaneity, and chunks of real life. This “anti-gray†brand does not talk about cosmetic surgery but only about simple things — efficiency, pleasure, emotions, sensations.
The beauty of these products is they’re certified organic— made of 50 to 94 percent organic ingredients from fresh fruits and vegetables directly purchased from small local organic producers in the Mediterranean region.
This organic skincare range is formulated with fruit water and full of active ingredients — hyaluronic acid, yogurt proteins, olive phyto-squalene, olive polyphenols, beech buds, and vegetable hydroxyproline.
For instance, there’s Love Me Tonight, a regenerating and anti-aging face cream with a warm natural spicy fragrance.
Pulpe de Vie products from Provence are available at Rustan’s.
