HI, REGINA!
I used to get my hair chemically processed all the time, and now it feels awful. It’s dry, it’s like straw, and it looks so unhealthy. Can I still do anything about this? If I get it rebonded again, will it go back to being shiny?
VIA
If you go for another chemical styling treatment, like rebonding (again), your strands may just snap off completely. Don’t risk it. You definitely need to give your hair a break.
Conditioning daily is a good start, but given the extent of the damage, you may need to avail yourself of more intensive treatments, like a rich hair masque every other day, perhaps, or even in-salon nourishing treatments, to help improve the state of your hair. Unfortunately, this may still not be enough to get your hair back to its original health (that is, until newer, healthier hair starts to grow in), but it’s definitely a good place to begin.
If the part of your hair that’s healthy and not processed is long enough, maybe consider getting a cut to start fresh? That’s the great thing about hair: More often than not, it grows back.

Say eye-do to pretty peepers that won’t fail you
DEAR RISSA,
I love eyeliner and I’ve been looking for one that stays put. I’ve tried a handful of brands and I haven’t been happy with the ones I’ve tried. They always smudge especially in our humid weather. I’m also not very happy with waterproof liquid eyeliners because they create a harsh line. I prefer the softer line a pencil creates. Please recommend a brand that is sweat-proof and waterproof. If you can suggest a reliable mascara, that would be great, too!
COLETTE
You must try K-Palette Real Lasting Eye Pencil (exclusively available at all Beauty Bar branches). This award-winning brand is famous for its one-day tattoo claim. K-Palette is not just waterproof but also sweat-proof and resistant to oil on skin all day. I’ve tried K-Palette Real Lasting Eye Pencil and I must say the color really stays in place even in the most extreme conditions! I road-tested this eyeliner during the Close Up Summer Solstice, the recent 12-hour non-stop music festival, and the results left me speechless. This eyeliner impressively lasted even while sweating and yes, even in our humid climate. Not once did it ever smudge! You are assured of gorgeous peepers that will never fail you. That’s peace of mind throughout the day! Plus unlike other eyeliner pencils, this one glides on smoothly on your lids without any tugging or pulling feeling. Most of all, I love how it gives a deep solid black color that you never have to retouch.
For a reliable waterproof mascara, K-Palette’s 1-Day Lash Perm Volume Curl Mascara (also available at all Beauty Bar stores) is a must! I loathe waterproof mascaras that are a chore to remove, but this film-type mascara makes it easy to remove but provides thick long lashes that last all day! I put this to the test when I joined the 5th Celebrity Squash Tournament organized by Tweetie de Leon-Gonzalez. What better way to test K-Palette’s promise than to wear mascara even while playing squash? I had never perspired so much in my life but my lashes remained intact — not even a speck of mascara fell off or smudged. Lashes remained as beautful as the first time I coated them with K-Palette’s mascara! RISSA

To bib or not to bib
DEAR LUCY,
Is it okay to wear an embellished neckline even during the day? And how do I make myself look spectacular?
DONNA
I love embellished necklines because they instantly do away with the need to accessorize. For daytime, just make sure your neckline has no sparkly or metallic beads. Embroidery will be great, no matter how detailed and intricate. It is a wonderful and simple way to dress up an outfit.
For more flexibility, you can even invest in embellished bibs to dress up a basic shift or streamlined top.
I know an outfit is right when the silhouette celebrates your body (regardless of weight and shape for we are all made differently), when it feels special and right, when it shows just the right amount of skin (and when I say the right amount of skin, I mean even just beautiful bare shoulders or a little of your back).
