Debenhams takes new designers to the high street

MANILA, Philippines -Debenhams features a new breed of designers, starting with Jonathan Saunders, Roksanda Ilincic and Preen with its Edition collection, a new concept bringing together the best of contemporary designers and taking them to the high street.

Roksanda Ilinlic goes all -out femme with draping and soft tailoring.

Famed for colors and prints, Jonathan’s new collection combines modern sex appeal with a fresh burst of energy. “My Edition collection combines classic shapes with block color and my signature love of print to create a fresh look for spring/summer ‘13,” he says, describing his new line. He plays with candy colors, retro patterns and vintage shapes. Watch out for sleek pencil skirts and straight dresses re-born with bold ’50s prints and pastels.

Roksanda goes all-out femme with elegant drapery, gorgeous dresses and soft tailoring. Look sweet and tempting in her ladylike collection, featuring refined, expertly tailored pieces.  “The spring/summer collection is in keeping with my signature use of bold shape and feminine draping,” says Roksanda, adding, “a pop of neon green highlights the muted tones, and embroidery adds a touch of luxury.”

Design duo Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi, Preen, presents minimal designs, combining masculine and feminine sensibilities. This season, the duo’s quirky style has been translated into an immaculate infusion of gothic leather, ladylike lace and slight hints of sophisticated tailoring. “Our spring/summer collection takes inspiration from the botanical with gorgeous bold floral prints.  We worked with simple shapes to allow the color and print to take center stage.” Preen’s collection will be available in stores soon.  Jonathan Saunders’ and Roksanda Ilincic’s collections for Edition are now available exclusively at Debenhams Shangri-La.
