MANILA, Philippines - A trip around the world with home in your suitcase. Natural. Relaxed. Powerful. This is the theme of Esprit’s spring/summer 2013 collection.
It’s about putting on whatever summer feels like to you: chic skinny jeans with colorful halter tops and short, boxy sweaters. Tops and dresses with peplum are complemented by heels for the day at the office and clean ballerinas for dinner with girlfriends. The look ranges from confident-looking business suits or new bi-stretch chinos made of coated linen to relaxed, printed pants in all cuts and feather-light summer knits and delicate fabrics.
Structured materials — summer boucle, tweed, pique or crepe — create a comfortable blend of fabrics with silk-linen blends and sustainable, pure fiber. Metallic coatings, authentic washings, ultra-shiny textures add patina. Abstract prints with floral motifs or snakeskin patterns, geometric prints and handmade looks are an ideal match for the easy summer lifestyle.
Details include embroidery, flower applique, smocked material areas and drawstrings; pleats, printed lace, elegant horn and shell buttons.
Esprit Men interprets the collection themes of Home, Travel and Holiday blending a triad of urban roots, individual travel styles and a sense of serenity.
“Mix and mismatch†lets you have fun dressing. Today, washed linen; tomorrow, structured pique. Go for multi-colored mouline and waffle-knit sweaters for relaxed evenings. Suits in new crepe versions and shirts with multi-color prints add an urban twist to the laid-back look.
