Jessica restyles Baroque

MANILA, Philippines - Jessica’s fall 2012 collection is inspired by the Baroque era, when glamour and richness prevailed. Luxurious fabrics and opulent colors reflect the new-style vintage dressing of the modern Jessica woman. Day-to-evening dresses and a capsule of fashionable cashmeres further enrich the selection. Decorative embroideries and ornamented pieces highlight the Baroque mood. Delicate lace and fur details echo the feminine appeal of the Jessica brand. A finale of warm outerwear completes the collection.

The season opens with opulent jewel colors. With forever-versatile black and white as the base, the palette combines amethyst purple, velvety pink and renaissance blue. The main look of a rich purple, floral jacquard structured skirt paired with an asymmetric sparkle-weave top is a modern interpretation of Baroque style. As the season moves on, burnt oranges and browns emerge.

Antique gold and silver are this season’s musthaves. The ultra-glamorous white wool tunic dress, heavily-decorated with gold and metallic vintage-style beading, takes center stage. Emphasis is placed on whites, nudes, dusty pinks and opal

greens. These holiday pastel hues are soft and romantic, such as the rose pink feather layered dress with sequined flower beaded yoke.

Designers chose a variety of fabrics, from smooth and shiny drape clothes to textured jacquards. The purple crepe back satin dress with a black ruffle detail and antique beaded collar is a great choice for day into evening, while the winter-white boiled-wool dress with antique silver embellished front offers a new structured look. Tweeds, again, play an important role this season with an assortment of black and white tweeds intermixed with Lurex. The fancy tweed cowl-neck tunic worn over a black turtleneck sweater exemplifies casual chic.

Decorative elements and special embroideries have become synonymous with the Jessica brand over the years.
