Printed matter

MANILA, Philippines - Prints are all over the runways of the fashion capitals of the world, as top designers draw inspiration from flowers, stripes, kaleidoscopes and many other patterns. And girls will have a lot of fashion fun mixing and matching all the pretty printed dresses, tops, and bottoms with their wardrobe basics from SM.

Here are some on-trend tips for wearing prints:

Don’t discard your floral fantasies just yet. As the season brings a high-octane dose of flower power, the runways have bloomed with outfits inspired by the beauty of flowers (think Blumarine, Proenza Schouler, Alberta Ferretti) and these pretty prints may not be found at the racks of the SM Girls Teens Department.

Walk on the wild side. Animal prints are hotter than ever and ethnic tribal prints will bring an exotic touch to any wardrobe.

Don’t forget your geometry lessons. Whether you loved or hated them in school, you’ll be fascinated with how geometric prints have invaded the fashion scene. Etro, Bottega Veneta and Michael Van Der Ham, among others, show their stripes: elegant in vertical, horizontal, or even diagonal configurations. You’ll also find polka dots, zigzags, triangles and checks in these trendy takes on the subject.

Combine prints for an exciting fashion mix. Flowers go well with checks, leopard with geometrical prints, and kaleidoscopic prints with hearts. The possibilities are endless.

The Print collection is available at the Girls Teens Wear Department of all SM stores.
