A new perspective at Objets d'art
MANILA, Philippines - Fashion, furniture and art mingled comfortably one lazy Saturday afternoon at Objets d’art, the trunk show featuring cult labels and gallery favorites at One Rockwell.
Indie jewelry line Narra, helmed by Bea Ledesma and Ria Prieto, embraces a French macabre aesthetic, featuring gold-dipped necklaces and cuffs fashioned from sterling silver. Skulls and bones were a recurring theme, as seen in the angular, sculptural pieces of 13 Lucky Monkey, designed by Dante Dizon and Noli Coronado.
Designers Michelline Syjuco, famed for her oneof- a-kind jewelry, Nicole Whisenhunt, Natalya Lagdameo and Malou Romero of Joanique made up the heart of the show. Erica Concepcion-Reyes of Riqueza presented pieces fashioned from antique stones and elements, like old coins and figurines on necklaces and bracelets.
Designer Maco Custodio showed off his artisanal leather collars and purses alongside Celine Gabriel-Lim and Andy Martel precious minaudieres under their line, Gabriel Martel. Heima’s playful furniture, a melange of pastels, served as a jumping off point for Jia Estrella’s painted pieces.
Artist Maxine Syjuco parlayed her aesthetic into eerie paintings and photographs, next to Art Informal’s mixed gallery of artists including Ernest Concepcion and Wesley Valenzuela.
